A catch-all functionality that is activated for a given mailbox will allow you to receive email messages that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. To state it differently, if you deactivate an email address and somebody still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled address under the very same domain, you’ll receive the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you are running a company, for instance. Since you may start receiving junk messages, you can use the catch-all option with anti-spam filtering software so as to receive only authentic messages in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few functions, but it is very simple to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective email address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes yet another mouse click on the exact same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to configure a catch-all mailbox without difficulty even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you’ve set up with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you don’t want this feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
